Woodworking- 木工 -
We have a lot of antique furniture made with the assumption that it will be used for a long time after restoration.
For that reason, craftsmen known as cabinet makers can carefully disassemble parts by hand and rework the woodwork and re-adjust it. This can correct problems such as wobbling and revive the practical usage of the item.
アンティーク家具は、修復して長く使うことを前提として作られているものが多くあります。
そのため、キャビネットメーカーと呼ばれる職人の手で丁寧にパーツごとに解体し、再度調整をかける木工作業により、ぐらつきなどの不具合を直し、実用性を蘇らせることができるのです。
Polishing- 塗装 -
At Lloyd’s Antiques, we think we can go as far as saying that the lifeline of antique furniture is in the coating. After a skilled craftsman called a polisher peels off the paint, various processes take place from color blending to applying the top polish.
The classic furniture is delivered without the impairment of the original gloss and texture called patina which is caused by being polished for many years. This is achieved by applying layers of shellac varnish by hand and finishing with French polish.
We carefully restore each piece of furniture according to the background and characteristics of the era, the time when it was made, and the quality of the wood.
ロイズ・アンティークスでは、塗装はアンティーク家具の生命線とも言えると考えています。ポリッシャーと呼ばれる熟練職人が塗装を剥離した後、色あわせ、トップポリッシュまで複数工程を施します。
クラシック家具は、手作業で幾層にもシェラックニスを重ねるフレンチポリッシュにこだわって仕上げることにより、長年磨きこまれたことで生じるパティーナと呼ばれる、オリジナルの艶や風合いを損なわずにお届けします。
その家具が誕生した時代背景や個性、作られた年代や、木の質に応じて丹念に修復していきます。
Upholstering- 椅子張り -
Craftsmen known as upholsterers place the covering over the materials and fabric inside the furniture after woodwork restoration has been completed.
We are reusing spring coils and horse hair which have now become rare materials, and we do our utmost to try to restore the furniture as closely as possible to the original.
アップホルスタラーと呼ばれる椅子張り職人が、木工修復が完了した椅子に対し、中材や生地を張り込んでいきます。今では希少となったスプリングコイルや馬毛を再利用することもあり、可能な限りオリジナルに忠実な修復を心がけています。

1. We will contact you in about 3 business days based on the information you have entered in the restoration application form. We may ask for more details by phone or email.
2. If you wish to have the items restored, we will arrange the pick of the items.
3. We will inform you of the final price, restoration method and delivery date after checking the items by our restorers
4. The restoration will be carried out after receiving your payment. After the restoration process, we will inspect, finish and deliver them to you.

Items purchased outside of Lloyd’s Antiques are eligible for restoration only for British and Scandinavian antique/vintage furniture.
We reserve the right to refuse any item that does not meet your request for repair.
We will charge you for the delivery cost of the items to be delivered after the repair.
If it is difficult to share the nuances of the finished product, such as the color of paint or the comfort of chairs and sofas, we will basically use a finish that is close to the original. (We can make adjustments with the customer’s consent, but the customer will be charged for any additional processes required.
Products purchased at other stores will be subject to the same restoration methods, materials, and quality standards as Lloyd’s Antiques products.
We reserve the right to suspend pickups and change the terms and conditions without notice.
